Dr. Bryna Jocheved Levy is one of the most esteemed Bible teachers in Israel and throughout the world. She is also a leader in the movement for women's Torah studies, and was the first woman awarded a doctoral degree in Biblical Studies by Yeshiva University. Dr. Levy is the founder and dean of the Joan and Shael Bellows Joint Graduate Program in Bible and Biblical Interpretation at Matan: the Sadie Rennert Women’s Institute for Torah Studies in Jerusalem and Hebrew University's Melton School of Jewish Education.

Visions and Voices
Women Creating Jewish Life Through the Ages Commissioned by George S. Blumenthal and the Center for Online Judaic Studies 2007. Visions and Voices is a multi-media production for women, by women and about women. The first unit launched is Women and Prayer comprising a section on the matriarchs- "Women of Destiny"; "Miriam's Rhythms"; "Women of Vision: Deborah and Hulda"; and "Hannah's Prayer". The site includes video clips, lectures, songs and prayers, along with classical texts and commentary, art, literature and liturgy. The material ranges from biblical to contemporary sources. By clicking on ‘Let Her Voice be Heard’, you can actually hear women singing prayers in English, Hebrew, Yiddish and Judaeo-Spanish. These women's voices blend and span the generations. They take us to countries throughout the world and accompany us through life's journeys. |

The site consists of eight candles, eight dimensions for you to explore-- one for each of the special nights of Hanukkah.
